Resource Title Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS)
Summary School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support is a framework for achieving improved academic and behavioral outcomes for all students. It guides intervention at the school and district level by a structure to support the adults and students on campus. Focused on promoting school climate, PBIS allows for the explicit teaching of rules and expectations while acknowledging students for appropriate behavior. A key feature of PBIS is the support school staff have for decision making, consequences and acknowledgement thereby allowing them to focus on the academic needs of students.
