Resource Title QPR Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention
Summary

A 1-2 hour training for parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, coaches, caseworkers, and community service workers so they recognize and respond to warning signs of a suicide crisis. Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) are the three steps taught in the course, along with information about role-playing and suicide rates. Training content can be customized for different audiences. People 18 years and older can become certified instructors after 8 hours of training.Used with a variety of ethnic groups in urban, suburban, rural, and frontier settings.
