Resource Title Mental Health First Aid
Summary MHFA is a course for adults designed to improve knowledge and modify attitudes and perceptions about mental health and related issues, including how to respond to individuals who are experiencing one or more acute mental health crises. Training is designed to be delivered by trained instructors in a 12 hour format focused on risk factors, warning signs and symptoms. Participants in the training are given a specific strategy to use when providing support. MHFA training helps break down the stigma that is often associated with mental illness by building confidence, skills and empathy.
